Benzodiazepines contain a class of treatments frequently prescribed for the relief of anxiety. Common benzodiazepines include Tavor, Valium, Rivotril, and Ativan. Each of these treatments acts on the central nervous system to enhance the effects of a neurotransmitter known as GABA. This produces in a calming effect, lowering feelings of uneasiness.
